Dr. Sara Vakhshouri is an energy strategist and humanitarian visionary with two decades of experience of working in the energy industry. She has extensive experience in energy strategy, energy security and geopolitical risk and global energy market studies.

She has advised numerous countries on their energy roadmap strategy and consulted public and private entities, and international organizations like IMF, World Bank. She is also Professor of Energy Security at the Institute of World Politics.  

Dr. Sara Vakhshouri has advised various governments, energy companies, investment banks, financial institutions, law firms and international corporations on energy security strategies and energy transition, energy markets, trading and the geopolitics of energy, and investment patterns.

She serves in prestigious academic and research roles as a Professor of Energy Security and the Head of the Center for Energy Security and Energy Diplomacy at the IWP Graduate School, and as a Senior Fellow at the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies and the Canadian Global Affairs Institute. Dr. Vakhshouri also provides strategic guidance to international bodies such as the IMF, World Bank, and various energy agencies.

She has a Ph.D. in Energy Security, a Master degree in Business Management (International Marketing), and a Masters degree in International Relations.

Dr. Sara Vakhshouri has published articles in numerous journals including The Economist, The Oxford Energy Forum, Middle East Economic Survey, and Oil and Gas Journal. Dr. Sara Vakhshouri has also contributed to different energy research works and studies at the International Energy Agency (IEA), Harvard University’s Kennedy School, Oxford Energy Institute, CEDIGAZ, Atlantic Council’s Global Energy Center, School of Advanced International Studies of Johns Hopkins University and The Economist’s Energy Intelligence Unit. She is the author of  a published book titled The Marketing and Sale of Iranian Export Crude Oil Since the Islamic Revolution.

Founder of SVB Energy International, a strategic energy consulting firm and of SVB Green Access, a non-profit organization that promotes and provides an affordable and inclusive energy program to areas in which energy poverty exists, and safe water access is either poor or would be in great need in the future.
